Quantum Ghost (echo 2), Kunsthall Trondheim, Norway, (2023)

21’ audio looped, salt crystal, sand, seeds, shells, crystals, sage, cushions
Libita presents the second iteration of her (2019) exhibition Quantum Ghost, imagined here as a guiding echo and place of rest. The sound has been re-mixed to stereo, for headphone listening alongside the table of found matter. Designed to take the listener on a subterranean journey of interior and exterior landscapes and dwellings. These real and imagined sites evoke the potential and aftermath of rupture, and trace Libita’s familial history through the remnants of colonial mining extraction. The sand is from a beach local to Cornwall, UK, and the crystals are from Swakopmund, Namibia.
Quantum Ghost (echo 2), was presented in the group exhibition; A Body of Memory (from neurons to the sea). Libita produced an edition of 100 vinyl records of her audio (as artist publication) for Quantum Ghost, which is available for purchase upon request.
This project has been supported by; Arts Council England, Freelands Foundation, Cultivator Cornwall, Arts and Culture Norway.
